Knee Rehab is the last workshop-style class - low on commitment, high on delivery - for this spring. We're closing the spring season with the Knee Rehab for a very good reason!
Knee pain is one of the two most common chronic pain conditions (second only to low back pain) that plague many us in our latter years. We use knees for literally everything - from sitting to standing to walking. Sore, achy knees can put a stop to our fun time... and plant a fear of immobility into our minds.
So if you have a creak or a tweak in the knee, or know someone who does - here are the details. Knee-hub program works just as great for pre-hab as it does for rehab. Register soon as only 8 spots are available!
Knee-Hub: Functional Movement Knee Rehab - IN STUDIO!
We'll take a tour-de-force into pain science so you can start to understand what is going on in your body and stop being afraid of moving it. We'll talk about pain and swelling and inflammation and all those good things, and then lay the foundation of how to work with the body in pain to get it better.
We'll befriend Ikabod - the studio skeleton - to learn all about the different knee structures. We'll shed the light on how these bones, tendons, and muscles work together (or not!) and contribute to knee pain. We'll look at the patellar groove - the happy home for our knee cap - to see if our knees are tracking just as they meant to.
We'll get into very specific and functional release - hydrate - stretch techniques to provide optimal space in the knee joint and correct tracking for the knee cap.
We'll touch on strengthening. More specifically, we'll talk about what needs to be lengthened and strengthened, what needs to be shortened and strengthened, and what needs to be strengthened specifically for you.
Knee-Hub is open for all, no matter what stage of recovery you are at.
You can join the class for the entire program, or you can sit, observe, and take notes. Your body, your practice, your choice.
