I struggled so much with paddling last summer. My shoulder would lock up, and I'd start getting a nasty headache barely fifteen minutes into the paddle. It was utterly frustrating, but I refused to put my paddle down.
A multi-day paddle would be the stuff of my dreams!
I worked extra hard over the winter to improve my shoulder biomechanics and strength, and the results were incredible!
Not only did paddling become more effortless and enjoyable, but I also had the strength and power to catch up to Wile E. on
our first bird-watching outing this year.
We spotted him (or her?) crossing the lake to steal some goose eggs for breakfast, but he pulled a quick U-turn when he saw us. He was some meters ahead of me, so I dug hard to catch up.
The eagles had a great view of the whole thing from their nest 🦅 - I think we woke them up with our shenanigans.
It was fantastic to feel all my hard work paying off, especially since I'd given myself a whiplash on a ski hill a month earlier, and my neck wasn't in showroom condition quite yet.
