Hey ,
Happy Wednesday!
First, I want to thank everyone who took the time to read my last post, especially those who wrote back. I've received many heartfelt responses regarding my Baba Nina, and they've brought many tears to my eyes. Thank you so much!
I also want to let you know that I
am wrapping up my writing for the season.
Summer is the time to enjoy the outdoors, watch birds, smell the flowers and tend to gardens; it's not for reading emails on a tiny screen - we can do that all winter long. Plus, I will be travelling to Russia at the
end of the month. The logistics are crazy these days, and I need some brain bandwidth to get myself organized.
Summer Resource Library
Before I sign off for the summer, I wanted to ask you, , if you'd like access to a prerecorded class library this summer.
The Satori Summer resource library is a collection
of prerecorded classes, video snippets for quick bursts of action, roll-outs, and stretches designed especially for folk facing movement challenges. It also includes practice write-ups for those who love reading and want more exercise details.
Lungs and Respiratory Diaphragm
I stumbled upon a fantastic video that shows the diaphragm and lungs moving in real time. I
thought it would be worth sharing since we spent so much time on breathwork this year.
You can see that the left lung is smaller than the right to accommodate the heart and that the diaphragm - the darker muscle just underneath the lungs - moves downward during
inhalation.
I shared this video with several private clients, and many were surprised to see how significant the movement of the diaphragm is. Most of us lack this kind of mobility, which is why we spend at least a quarter of each class on breathwork.
