Hey ,
I wrote this post a few days before the monster fire burnt through Jasper, and I couldn't have left that unacknowledged.
Last week was so emotional for me, as I'm sure it was for many Albertans and people around Canada who had the privilege to experience Jasper
National Park. It's hard to believe something like this could have happened, yet here we are, feeling gut-punched.
Emotions are running high as we try to come to terms with our loss and grief. At times like this, it is easy to feel isolated and alone. This is why I
thought it was important to acknowledge what had happened and say, "I am struggling too. We are in this together."
Fall 2024 yoga sessions are now open for all
returning students.
While this priority registration is taking place, I want to introduce you to Satori Yoga's unique and individualized pain care strategy, designed to understand and cater to your pain levels.
Generally, acute and chronic pain is rated on a 1 to 10 scale, where one means low pain and 10 means exceptionally high pain. Of course, this rating is highly subjective - everyone's pain experience is unique. You might rate what I rate as a seven as only a 4, and vice versa.
As subjective as this personal pain number is, it still gives us plenty of clues on how to manage the daily pain.
Satori Yoga is known for its 'come-as-you-are'
classes, which have profound therapeutic benefits, such as improved flexibility, reduced stress, and enhanced well-being.
These classes meet students exactly where they are and offer several pain care options designed to work with your pain level. Check out the handy
graphic I created to help explain how to work with your personal pain number.
Satori classes are thoughtfully designed to be inclusive and adaptable. Whether you're a beginner, have limited flexibility, or manage a chronic pain condition, Satori Yoga ensures that yoga is
accessible and comfortable for all, regardless of body shape, size, or fitness level.
Our yoga classes work well alongside your other health care professionals—massage therapists, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, and chiropractors—adding the invaluable benefits of
movement and nervous system regulation to your existing pain care plan.
