Welcome to Pain Care Yoga—Yoga Classes to Overcome Chronic Pain. Classes start on Monday, March 31st, at 6 PM. Please take some time to go through this email
before yoga classes begin.
Class Details:
Pain Care Yoga are Online Classes: We are using a web-based program called Zoom. Zoom can be used on any device - phone, tablet or computer. Zoom app for iPad and iPhone makes logging in
super easy.
If you aren't familiar with Zoom, you will need a few minutes to download and install it on your device.
Once you have installed Zoom, you will see a screen inviting you to join a meeting. Here is login info:
Meeting ID: 948 350 7605 Password: satoriyoga
You can also use this link to go to your class directly.
Bonus #1:The login remains the same for the duration of our
session, so please save this information for future use. Gimme a shout at 780.5127573 (outside of class hours, please!) if you are having trouble logging in.
Bonus #2: for those of you with hearing aids, you can set your device to work with your hearing aids directly.
You can join the class with or without
video. If you are choosing to use the video, experiment with your video set up before hand to make sure your camera is pointed at your mat - so I can see you!
Attendance: You are registered for both Monday and Thursday classes, and
you can attend either one or both of them, depending on how you feel that particular week.
Comfort: Please wear comfortable clothing so you can relax and move. Dress in layers that you can take off and put on as our practice rolls through more and less active segments.
Interruptions: Since we are practising at home, it is easy to get interrupted by phone calls, kids, pets, etc. I would like to encourage you to carve out an uninterrupted space and time for your practice so you can get the full benefit of it.
Props: Please clear your yoga space, have class props ready and mat rolled out before joining the class. Here the props you will need for the class:
Thick yoga mat
Yoga Therapy Balls
Yoga Bolster
Core Ball
Firm Chair (with back support and no rollers) Soft Blankets for padding Firm Blankets for support Hand towel
Wash cloth
Head cushion if you need one
Out of
all the props, the core ball is a must-have.
Ideally, you have a less inflated and more inflated core ball.
In a
pinch, yoga therapy balls can be replaced with tennis or lacrosse balls, but their texture isn't quite right for the practice.
If being on the mat is not an option: You can practice on your bed. It helps to remove blankets and pillows so you don't end up getting tangled in all those creature comforts.
I look forward to seeing you on Monday!
See you on the mat!
