HIPS and PF REHAB - important information enclosed

Published: Fri, 01/27/17

Hey ,

Welcome to Ball + Yin: HIPS AND PELVIC FLOOR REHAB.

Please read carefully as this e-mail will most likely answer some of your pre-workshop questions.

If still in doubt, please e-mail me:)

1. Find the studio:

Studio is located at #200, 9914 – 109 Ave; behind FourWord bike shop and kitty corner across from KFC (yes, sometimes there's a smell of fries wafting through our building.) We are directly above Verity Wellness and CosmoProf store; use the second floor access right next to Wellness Center.

The studio is fully stocked, so you don't need to bring anything other than a bottle of water and your smile.

More info regarding studio location, including a map, are here.

GPS have known to lead people astray - please call me (780.512.7573) if you get lost.

2. Arrive on time:

We will start sharp on time; most people find pre-class check in and chat beneficial as well.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to get settled and catch your breath.

3. Be scent free:

Please refrain from wearing perfumes or scents.

You will be deep breathing in a room with 15 other people - we want to keep the air as clean as it is possible.

4. Stay adequately hydrated:

Please remember to bring your water bottle and refill it during the break.

Staying well hydrated will help you to feel better, move better, stay alert for the duration of the class, and avoid the post-deep-tissue work hangover and headache.

5. Familiarize yourself with the workbook:

I have created a workbook for you to use during the workshop if you'd like, and as a reminder afterwards.
It follows the sequence of the workshop* and has place for you to take notes on each pose / sequence**.

In the past we have found that there's very little time to take notes during the workshop - if we stop and write after every technique we won't be finished any time before Easter. However, there will be a short bio-brake half way throughout the workshop; please feel free to either print or bring the workbook with you on a digital device if you want to jot a few things down.

*I will stick to this sequence as much as it is possible. However, I always give the first consideration to what students in the room need - which of course means that we might deviate from the original plan.

**There are some pose descriptions in the workbook.

See you tomorrow - on the mat and on the ball!
