Spring 2017 Friday round-up - week 6

Welcome to Friday Round-up.



Before we get to all the usual goodness (so excited for new visual sequences!) I just wanted to let you that Satori summer schedule is up and running on the website.

As usual, summer schedule is pretty laid back: you can register for just one class or a bunch (with a discount, of course).

There are your usual Satori classics as well as a couple of intensives - Hips + Pelvic Floor Rehab is a familiar one, and Core Restore will be offered in a condensed, immersion format as well for those of you who have missed them during winter - spring time.

Just a note: if you are thinking Core Restore intensive and have some Hip or PF pain - whether it is acute or residual - please consider attending Hips + PF Rehab first. These two are designed to work together and feed off each other, and you will benefit so much more from the Core Restore if you have understanding of some of the basic concepts and the reasons behind them.



This week's structural themes:

  • moving from the hips
  • chair as a movement tool
  • spring foot scrub



This week's breathing practices:

Intro to Nadi Shodhana - alternate nostril breathing



Movement focus by class:



Pain Care Yoga: 

Side Rocking Sequence - we used foam rollers in class and done both shoulder and hip rocking; if doing on your own please remember to move only through your safe range of motion.

Ask yourself: am I able to breathe smoothly or am I holding my breath? Will I have to pay for this tomorrow?


    Corrective Movement Yoga:

    Chair Hip Opening Sequence - we've used the ball to sit on, and also done pelvic lists (side to side rocking) in addition to pelvic tilt.
     


    Gentle Beginner Yoga

    Chair Lunge Sequence - we've done this sequence both on the chair and on the mat; try with the chair on your own - you are less likely to compensate when you use chair as a feedback tool




    Yin + Ball Yoga
