Would you like to attend our Free Pain Care Yoga class this week?
So many of you have responded to last week's email letting us know that getting a handle on persistent or recurring pain is priority #1. Thank you so much for taking the time to connect and letting us know where you stand health wise!
The basic idea behind a lot of my writing is that
learning about pain helps people to hurt less {that's a scientific fact!}. The more we understand our bodies, the less we fear...
But, did you know that pain can significantly impact our ability to learn?
It’s a classic 'Catch 22'.
It’s not just that pain can be distracting; it can, but also some of the same processes associated with persistent or recurring pain can directly affect our ability to form new synaptic connections, lay down new memories, or learn and think.
Additionally, many medications, including antidepressants and long-term opioids can have detrimental effects on memory and learning.
This is exactly why we offer a free monthly Pain Care Yoga class.
We want to give you an opportunity to have a direct experience of what this practice is all about, to feel what is possible rather than just merely learning about the possibilities.
February's Free Pain Care class is on this Saturday, February 3rd, 1 - 2 PM, and we have 6 spots
available in that class.
Think of Pain Care Yoga as a pain science applied to life.
Because yoga's experiential practices involve both the mind and the body, the learning, insights and changes aren't simply mental; these are embodied insights, which is why they
have a more profound impact and lasting effect on managing chronic pain.
