Last Thursday's Corrective Movement class started with,
"Can I pick your brain?"
question
from one of the students.
Gosh, I love it when that happens!
These kind of beginnings present a HUUUUUGE opportunity for learning (and healing!) for everyone involved. Yes, including the teacher.
So, we chatted, and then, with permission, I've brought our private
before - class exchange to everyone's attention.
Conversation poured.
Everyone listened with rapt attention.
People spoke from the heart, sharing their innermost feelings and experiences,
Many eyes sparkled, and some glistened as an odd tear ran down the cheek.
Faces glowed - lit up from the inside - because in that moment we all felt connected, heard, seen, understood, and most importantly SAFE to say what we had to
say, and share what we had to share.
To say this experience felt "powerful" or "inspiring," is to say nothing at all.
Modern science has shown that we, humans, are wired for connection.
Knowing this fact is one thing.
Feeling the power of heart-to-heart connection is completely
another.
In my writing I primarily focus on sharing information that can help someone - maybe you, ? - to move out of realm of surviving, managing and coping with pain and toward thriving and enjoying life {there's JOY in enjoying!}.
Last week's exchange has powerfully
reminded me that there's more to healing then gathering and perusing information. Words of a beautiful human being and my teacher, late Dr. David Simon, came to mind:
"There's only one letter difference between "illness" and
"wellness."
P.S. The image above is that of Stuart Jamieson.
It is the best visual representation of our in-class conversation that I
could find.
You are probably wondering what we talked about?
I might share that one day...
P.P.S. New session of Core
Restore classes starts today.
There are a couple of spots left in that class.
Is one of them yours, ?
