Did you know that physical and emotional pain light up the very same centers in the brain - in other words, physical and emotional pain is experienced very similarly?
Furthermore, when the brain is hammered with unpleasant emotional or physical impulses day after day, week after week, it becomes more and more efficient in processing them.
So overtime even the smallest of triggers begin to elicit the heightened pain {physical or emotional} response that was previously only reserved for the strongest stimuli.
It is this process, called sensitization, that causes people to complain that their pain is getting much worse in spite of the lack of additional trauma.
Treating nervous system sensitization is the only way out of that predicament.
You can do so with medication (and deal with the side effects)
Or you can use pain care yoga and its mindfulness practices.
The magic of pain care yoga is that it almost instantly calms down the nervous system, so for most people pain relief is experienced from the moment they step onto the
mat.
Step onto the mat with us - try pain care yoga this summer!
