Use it or lose it.
Sounds pretty straight forward.... but how often do we stop to think about what that actually means - for us personally, for our living, breathing bodies?
All of our tissues, no exception, are built on, by, and for movement.
If our movement habits resemble a fast food diet - moving way too much in some places, and not enough or not at all in others - our muscles, tendons, bones, joints, nerves, teeth, and even our immune system suffer.
They begin to lose their resiliency.
Special clean-up enzymes re-absorb tissues that are not being used.
Gradually, we lose the ability to feel and recruit muscles that are outside of our habitual use, setting ourselves up for repetitive injury patterns and pain.
This breakdown process begins a mere 48 hours after we've stopped moving...
Let's keep on moving.
