PainLess Saturdays - as it is with most of Satori offerings - were born out of necessity.
Over the years of teaching therapeutic and pain care yoga I've accumulated a vast library of tools for movement rehabilitation, pain management and emotional regulation.
Some of these tools have filtered down through Wednesday posts, and, of course, into the yoga classes and appointments. Yet, the sheer amount and variety of material made it impossible to fit into the regular yoga class or present in a way that was cohesive and user-friendly.
And so the PainLESS Saturdays were born.
I've been already teaching a monthly public Pain Care Yoga class for a few years. Many a Satori yogi - maybe you too, ?- have come to know about therapeutic yoga through one of those free classes.
Now, in addition to a FREE! monthly Pain Care Yoga class, there's a Group Meditation, and also a body-part specific Structural Yoga Therapy clinic.
A word on Structural Yoga Therapy clinics.
Observing students who have attended some of Satori structural clinics in the past made me really think about how much learning (both physical and intellectual) can happen at one go.
It made much more sense to separate the material into a self-care section (Ball + Yin clinic) and functional movement + stability section (Core Restore Method), with about a month in between for students to experiment with self-care tools and build more body + movement awareness.
