Starting this week we will be using a fitness ball (large gym ball).
Usually, unless you are very tall, the 55 cm ball is the best option. A general rule is that when you are sitting on the ball your hips and knees are bent at 90-degree angle.
In Grande Prairie you can get the fitness ball from Ernie's, London Drugs, Canadian Tire and possibly Wall Mart (not sure about that one).
I know - yet another prop to get, and keep, and store - I get that completely!
*But I am convinced that the movement benefits of this addition far outweigh the small inconvenience of having to add another prop to your yoga prop collection!
Studio prop sale.
I am selling some of the (used) studio supplies because I just don't know when we will be going back to the studio and if - or ever - we will be able (and willing!) to share props. I figure better someone uses them than they sit in storage. Here is the list:
Bolsters - 40$ each - 4 available / 2 spoken for already
Foam rollers - 25$ each - 6 available
Yoga therapy balls - 10$
Core balls (already inflated) - 10$
Bricks - 7$
Chip foam bricks - 7$
Wool blankets - 10$
Yoga mats - free
All of the props are pre-loved and sold "as is".
Check-ins and Questions:
There's nothing like a virtual classroom to challenge both the student and the teacher. My goal is to make virtual classes as informative and nourishing as the real-time classes.
Soooo...
I am open to questions, suggestions, ideas, things you've seen in other virtual environments.
What do you feel is missing (besides the studio, of course!)?
What would be most helpful to you?
Is there anything in particular you'd like to focus on?
Is there anything that needs to be clarified?
You don't need to answer all of these right now...
Just shoot me an e-mail when an idea or a question pops into your head, or if you need a certain movement clarified after the class.
Recordings:
The group has spoken!
There were lots more votes to keep recordings coming daily after each class, so I'll keep the schedule as is. Here is yesterday's class:
*I know that starting a sentence with "But" is a no - no.
BUT some rules are just made to be broken! Cheers!
