Fitness industry, even at the best of times, is a fickle business.
Toil all you you can.... It's hard to make ends meet, no matter how many hours you work.... Profit? What profit?!
So you can imagine how heartbreaking it has been for me to watch my colleagues - yoga teachers, gym and studio owners - muddle through the craziness of this pandemic year. Often it feels like my industry (along with the restaurants!) is a punching bag for each new round of restrictions...
Yet, I can't help but to feel blessed - in so many ways - because of YOU!
While so many of my yoga teacher friends continue to struggle with the vicious close - open - close restriction cycle, Satori yogis just keep showing up.
So many of you, amazing Satori students, are willing to try the on-line classes, to change, to adapt, and ultimately to find a silver lining in otherwise pretty bleak situation (and even practice yoga in bed - because hey, why not?).
Thank you for hanging out with me on Zoom - YOU make my day, every day!

"Well... if 2 years ago you had asked me if I would ever enjoy exercise classes on line I would've definitely laughed.
And then life happened...
My active life style was suddenly interrupted when I broke my femurs.
I've had surgeries on both legs and was feeling pretty depressed lying in bed, not being able to go to all these wonderful exercise classes I signed up for, and walking with a walker.
Then COVID hit.
Many instructors went on line, and I've connected with some people from my home town of Grande Prairie. I knew right away I should try Julia's Pain Care Yoga, as I had done those - and with great benefit - in GP.
I can not at this point get down on the mat, so l use my bed.
It works great, and I feel like I am a full participant in the Pain Care class.
Julia’s classes have many many levels, so I just do what works for me.
If something feels out of reach I may just lie in my bed and breathe... or do some of my physio exercises.
This class makes me feel taller and stronger, and my breath deeper and freer.
And all from my own home - now many kilometres away from GP.
No need to scrape windows, go out at -40C, or drive home after savasana.
I lie and relax after, and it feels so good!!"
