When I ask my students how are they feeling, more often then not I hear " good...fine."
Such a habitual response!
Just think about it: what does "fine" say about your hips, shoulders, or the sensations in your feet?
" Good" might be accurately describing what you are thinking, but it conveys little about what you are actually feeling.
Our
language creates our reality, and for as long as we are unable to
identify and describe what it is that we are feeling, we will continue
to live disconnected from our bodies.
Here is a short list of
words to help describe the sensations and feelings you are experiencing:
open, energized, closed, restricted, free-moving, flowing, soft, high,
low, tight. And remember, experiencing nothing is just as much of a
sensation and a valuable feedback.
See you on the mat!
Coming in October:
Deepak Chopra meditates..
So does Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle,
Andrew Weil and even Oprah ( imagine my surprise when Ms. Winfrey
herself walked into our Primordial Sound Teacher training two years
ago).
You might have tried meditating too, only to find out that this seemingly simple practice can be oh - so - elusive.
On October 12 join our meditation conversation. Let's talk about what
meditating really means, what to do with those pesky thoughts that seem
to take over your mind just as soon as you close your eyes, why you fall
asleep every time you try to meditate and how to fit meditation
practice into your already busy day.
On October 12 join our meditation conversation to find out how meditation can become the most enJoyable part of your day. Register now!
