Why Organic Breath?
What's with Essential Core?

" Improper breathing is a common cause of ill health"
~ Dr. Andrew Weil

Here it is in a nutshell: breathing and core stability are at the epicenter of our being, and yet, surprisingly, there's nothing more confusing in the world of yoga and physical activity as the proper way of breathing and engaging the core.

The first thing I notice during a one-on-one consultation is how my client is breathing. To a trained eye, breath reveals a lot about the inner life of the body - both physical and emotional. And all too often I see a familiar breathing pattern - shoulders riding up and down, shallow chest breathing, accompanied by the rigidity of the ribcage and laxed belly muscles. According to Western respiratory research, this type of breathing is associated with adrenal exhaustion, increased heart rate, increased blood sugar and lactate levels, increased perception of pain, decreased blood flow to brain and heart and elevated blood pressure among other things. From a psychological perspective, decreased emotional stability and high levels of perceived and objective stress characterize shallow breathing.

The goal of Organic Breath workshop is to help you dissolve the tension and restrictions within your breath and uncover the free, organic breath you were born with.

Things get even more interesting as we get down to core. You can read more about Essential Core workshop here, but this is what I want to share with you right now: if your low back is sore, if your shoulders are tight or achy, if you are suffering from chronic digestion or elimination problems or persistent bladder infections, chances are your core function is compromised and is affecting your health.

Learn how to create fluid strength without rigidity or gripping at Essential Core workshop. Register today!

See you in the class and on the mat.

With lots of love,

Julia
