March 1, 2012

This year things were going to be different. You were finally going to commit to that new gym program. Take your vitamins. Eat healthier. Drink more water. Yep, this year was going to be different.

March rolls in, and with it the realization that your New Year's resolution has departed to the la - la land to live happily ever after with the rest of your good intentions. You realize that all your problems are the same as the last year's, the holiday muffin - top is still intact, and now you have this post - Canadian winter pasty skin to deal with ( want glowing skin? read on!)
What went wrong?
Many of us deeply desire positive shifts in our lives. Yet very few actually achieve lasting positive change despite of the multitude of life - coaching programs and self - help information so widely available. Many of us struggle with the same problem - be it finances, relationships, weight or health - year after year. Many feel overwhelmed and consumed by the problem at hand so much so that we consider it to be an inevitable part of our lives.
Is there a way out?
I believe the answer is in changing the attitude - the lens through which we look at the world.

The most powerful first step you can take in Resolution Evolution is to commit to positive changes you want to see. Your failure to commit full - heartedly to your goals makes every obstacle on the path seem bigger than it really is.

Stop telling yourself all those stories why you can't be healthier, happier or more alive. Stop doubting yourself. Stop being afraid.

Create unstoppable momentum for positive change in your life.

Find the tools and techniques that make the difference now.

Join Satori Movement:

Ready to grow into a better posture (yep, you can grow into it!), get more flexible or loose that nagging shoulder ache or hip tightness?

iMOVE: yoga and conscious movement

Organic Breath and Essential Core workshops are on March 10th. I can talk about breath and core until I am blue in the face - yes, it fascinates me that much. I hope, for the sake of your health, you get fascinated with your breath and core just as much as I am.
Brenda, one of my private clients, came to me with chronic heartburn. As usual, I asked her to access her discomfort level in the beginning of the class, and it was between 7 and 8. We worked on changing her breathing pattern and releasing her diaphragm. By the end of the class her pain level was only at about 3. Magic!
Spring Yoga Registration is in full swing and early bird prices are good till International Women's Day - March 8th. Spring session starts on Saturday, March 24th.

Psssst... let you in on a secret - there are two Yummy Summer Yoga Camps in the works - a two - morning venture into the goodness of yoga, conscious movement, chanting and meditation. Want a spot? Let me know!

iLIVE: Ayurveda, the star of the show:

March 28th, 6:30 to 8:30 PM
We are talking about food sensitivities - chronic pain, stress and mood disorders link, and what you can do about it. Now the nasty thing about  food sensitivities is once you've developed one, the next one is waiting right around the corner. So how do you deal with that? Join our conversation on FB and come to the workshop to find out. I am interviewing Kelly Stubbert for March 15th blog post on food sensitivities; if you have a story to share, please drop me a line - I would love to hear from you!

May 5th at Wapity Nordic Lodge
All those creams, potions and lotions not doing their job? Look beyond the mirror to discover your radiant beauty: find stillness in meditation, strength in the yoga practice, and ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to heal, nurture and repair your body. Add to that a walking meditation (sweet smell of spring, new flowers and maybe a few raindrops - YUM!), chanting and delicious lunch - I can't wait! How about you?

And finally, last but not least, the dates for Satori's second annual Perfect Health Retreat  in Jasper National Park are confirmed, the Overlander Mountain Lodge has been booked and Chef Moz is busy inventing and testing our delicious Ayurvedic menu. I have expanded the program to include a half - day venture into the magic of Rocky Mountain Wilderness and a few other surprises. Registration starts soon!

It's an honor to be a part of your journey as you work toward achieving the extraordinary life you want and deserve. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
See you in the class and on the mat.

With lots of love,

Julia
