Dear ,
Welcome to Satori JUNE e-blast!
Back in October I asked you, my readers, about the true cost of being busy. The "busyness" conversation started on Facebook, and promptly spilled out into discussions over coffee at Starbucks, on the yoga mats and in other places encouraging such dialog. Many of you talked about financial and health implications of being too busy, and how busyness erodes our relationships with the most important people in our lives. Few months later I come to realize that I've asked the wrong question...
How many of us blame overflowing in - boxes, over - run schedules and even Facebook for our chronic busyness? What if we look deeper?
Take some time to ponder on what is hiding behind your busyness. We all long for life of meaning and purpose, for nourishing relationships and connection with like-minded community. When we lack that, it becomes oh-so-easy to distract ourselves with busyness - much easier, in fact, than facing the emptiness of unfulfilled dreams and lost opportunities. Over time, internal unsettledness becomes external busyness. Ask yourself: what is the real CAUSE of my busyness?
I invite you to LOOSE YOUR MOMENTUM
. Before it's too late, un-BUSY yourself - for an hour, a day, a week, and if you are really brave - for a month. Spend some time by the river, re-visit your meditation practice, cook a beautiful meal, commit to silence in the mornings or come to a yoga class. This summer, learn what good can come, what inner magic, from bringing your outer life to a standstill.
To support your transition to a less busy summer I am scaling down on both e-blasts and Facebook posts. I will still keep you posted on all fascinating developments here at Satori, and, of course, if you have a question, query or a comment - you know where to find me.
