SPRING YOGA SESSION - week two Friday Round Up

Published: Fri, 04/15/16

Hi

Welcome to this week's Friday Round-up.

Days have gotten so much longer, and the weather is getting warmer every day. Cabin fever is now in full swing - who has the time (or the willpower) to sit and read a drawn-out e-mail?
From now on my goal is to be as succinct as possible, and make your Friday Round-Ups short and sweet, while still delivering the goods.

Week two is usually about settling into the practice, and exploring the edges of your movement ability - how far can I go? Does it feel safe to go this far? How would I feel tomorrow after stretching like that?

In this week’s follow up - you will find both sets of instructions attached to this e-mail:
  1. Updated instructions for Sa-Ta-Na-Ma breathing practice. This technique lands itself particularly well for Pain Management, as well as any stressful situation where you need to distract your mind from incessant and unproductive thought cycling. This is the technique I've shared with the Parkinson's support group and they, too, have found it to be really effective.
  2. Easy Beginner Sequence. For those of you keen to start your daily stretching practice I've included a printout of an easy beginner sequence. This sequence could be practiced everyday; you can also modify it to better suit your needs as we go along.

In other news: I trust most of you had the pleasure of meeting Carianne, Satori's newest team member and our prop angel. I am super excited to have Carianne assisting me in classes, and I would really like to encourage you to help her help you by sharing your prop needs and showing her what particular set up works for you.

Next week we'll focus on BALL 101 and learn some easy + amazingly effective techniques to use on your own whenever you feel tight, tense or stuck.

Enjoy your weekend!
